In this blog I plan to chronicle some of the adventures that I'll be thrown into while moving to Sweden to live with my fiance.



Who am I? ¿Quien soy? Vem är jag?

A temporarily self-sustained low-entropy system.

Heh. Let's go with the basics. I'm 29 and I'm a physics student with a previous medical degree (long story). I met Ludvig online early in 2014. We joke sometimes that this is probably the best way we could have ever met, as we're both rather introverted and shy. We would have passed each other by, mildly blushing and avoiding eye contact, neither daring to start the conversation with that fascinating, but scary stranger.

The rest is history... and with this I mean I will probably add more details in an entry sometime.

Why English? ¿Por qué en Inglés? Varför på engelska?

So I'm currently working with three languages in my head.

I still don't know enough svenska, so I can't write full entries in it yet, but I am trying to learn fast. Soon I'll start needing to write in Swedish just to practice. When that happens I may need to either change or branch out or start a dual language thing. I haven't decided.

Spanish is my native language. However I've never blogged in Spanish (regularly - I have tried) and it feels strangely... awkward? I'm fully fluent as any native would be, I use Spanish every day for verbal communication with the people I know, and I use it often for university work and professionally.

However when I first started writing personal journals I went straight into English, with the excuse that I needed to get better at it. Writing about myself and my adventures became most natural when I did it in English. It's a habit.

Who knows? Maybe once I don't get to use Spanish as much I'll start missing it and it'll come out.

Another factor is, a lot of the people I may share this with probably speak English but not one of the other two languages (with the exception of my parents, who are exclusively Spanish speakers, but I will be in contact with them often enough that they won't need to read my blog).
